SOJOURNER BROWN

is an actor based in New York City. She is currently in the cast of PURPOSE on Broadway and recently has been seen in the Broadway cast of HADESTOWN, Elsbeth on CBS, and on Disney Channel, NBC, and ABC/Freeform. She recently acted in an upcoming feature film, The Snare, and has starred in award-winning films in the festival circuit. Sojourner continues to perform in workshops and readings of new plays for Off-Broadway and local theaters like THE PUBLIC.

In addition to acting, Sojourner worked as a singer for Walt Disney Records in DCappella, Disney Music Group’s a cappella group that has racked up millions of views on their YouTube videos and digital single releases. She was a guest artist on season 16 of American Idol and a vocalist on the Incredibles 2 soundtrack. She released three albums with Disney, toured across Japan and North America with the group in 2019, and headlined at Carnegie Hall.

​Originally from small-town Nebraska, Sojourner graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and is a Stonestreet Studios Conservatory (Film/TV Acting) alum. As a multi-disciplinary artist, Sojourner continues to write her own poetry and is currently recording her debut indie-folk album. Her poetry was recently published in Black Love Letters, with a foreword by John Legend. Available at Barnes & Noble and at bookstores nation-wide!
