is an actor based in New York City. She has performed at events and venues ranging from the 2017 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall and American Idol on national TV to underground poetry clubs in Paris, France. Originally from small-town Lincoln, Nebraska, Sojourner has always felt called to the arts as a platform for storytelling, a means of self-expression, and a catalyst for social change. She graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama from the New Studio on Broadway (Musical Theatre) and is a recent Stonestreet Studios Conservatory (Screen Acting) alum. Sojourner is currently the alto for DCappella, Disney's new a cappella group, and will be releasing an album and a tour with Walt Disney Records in 2019!
As a multi-disciplinary artist, Sojourner is fascinated by the power that words hold and the chains of historic meaning that they conjure up. In addition to her passion for acting, she is a published poet and has a Minor in Creative Writing. With a love for both performing in and creating new work, Sojourner is continually writing poetry, music, and plays in hopes of creating artistic spaces of inclusivity where marginalized voices can be heard. She recently released her short spoken word/dance film, your body is a catechism. She is also a co-producer for The Myriad, an artist collective dedicated to giving emerging artists and new work a platform, that produces artist exhibitions throughout the year. Sojourner is incredibly grateful for all the opportunities God has given her to create and collaborate.
